چکیده

Abstract We investigated the individual and synergistic impact of gypsum, elemental sulfur, vermicompost, biochar, microbial inoculation on soil health improvement in degrading calcareous saline-sodic soils. developed Linear nonlinear quantification frameworks to assess efficacy remedial practices. The combined inoculated chemical organic treatments; gypsum + vermicompost sulfur with 134% (0.29 versus 0.68) 116% 0.62) increases index, significantly increased amendments compared control. An increase overall index ranged between 12 134%. Microbial further enhanced treatments health. Soil properties included indexes explained 29 87% variance wheat growth. findings bring insight into cost-effective environmentally sustainable practices recover degraded Furthermore, introduced offer a quantitative evaluation remediation strategies.

Integrated Electrokinetics-Adsorption Remediation of Saline-Sodic Soils: Effects of Voltage Gradient and Contaminant Concentration on Soil Electrical Conductivity

In this study, an integrated in situ remediation technique which couples electrokinetics with adsorption, using locally produced granular activated carbon from date palm pits in the treatment zones that are installed directly to bracket the contaminated soils at bench-scale, is investigated. Natural saline-sodic clay soil, spiked with contaminant mixture (kerosene, phenol, Cr, Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb, a...

Applying Biochar and Mineral Amendments to Remediate the Chemical Properties of a Saline-Sodic Soil

The present study was intended to improve the chemical properties of a saline-sodic soil using the individual application of alfalfa residue and two biochars produced from sugarcane bagasse and walnut shell, at the weighting ratio of 5%; their concomitant application with gypsum, aluminum sulfate and the mixture of these two chemical amendments was considered. The experiment was conducted in th...

Changes of soil microbial characteristics in saline-sodic soils under drip irrigation

A field experiment was carried out to study the changes of soil bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes in saline-sodic soils for different numbers of cultivated years under drip irrigation. The drip irrigation had substantial effects on levels of bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes. With increased number of cultivated years under drip irrigation, the soil biological properties were greatly improved. A...

The reclamation of salt-affected soils which occur on 831×106 ha can be effective in increasing agricultural production. Cultivation of plant species which are resistant to salinity can improve the soil by increasing the solubility of calcite and releasing the calcium in soil solution. This study was conducted as a column experiment with a saline-sodic soil (SAR = 23.8, EC= 12.88 dS m-1, pH= 7....
